Meatballs for the Crock Pot – This super simple recipe for Italian meatballs, is a crock pot recipe as well, and the perfect partner for hot fresh pasta. Slow cooking all day, this allows you the freedom of leaving the house, while still cooking a homemade dinner for eveyone!

Ingredients to make Meatballs for the Crock Pot

Meatball Ingredients:
1Kg / 2.2 lbs ground beef
1 onion finely chopped
1 clove garlic finely chopped
100g / 4 oz breadcrumbs
1 beaten free range egg
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Sauce Ingredients:
1 400g can chopped tomatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
A handful of fresh basil, chopped
A splash of Tabasco
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions to make Meatballs for the Crock Pot

Step 1:

Throw all the ingredients into a bowl, get stuck in with your hand and give it a good mulch around. Now roll the mix into the meatballs and pop them into a frying pan under a medium heat just to brown the meatballs for about 5 minutes.

Step 2:

Place the meatballs in the crock pot, pour over the sauce and cook for six hours on “low” setting

Step 3:

Serve with hot fresh pasta.
